Snoqualmie Falls and the Salish Lodge

Tomorrow is my 14 year anniversary. I can hardly believe it's been that long. This weekend, Andy took me up to Snoqualmie to stay at the Salish Lodge for a little anniversary getaway. It was fantastic - so relaxing, so amazing and just a joy to be with Andy on our own. Some of you might not know that we got pregnant 3 months after we got married, so we've really only been married without kiddos for about a year and 9 months of that time, I was a hormonal mess! So, it was super nice to get couple time.

The lodge is gorgeous and very relaxing. Our room (which I failed to take a picture of), was on the third floor with a little balcony overlooking the woods. It had a fireplace, a king bed with wonderfully soft linens and pillows and a huge bathroom with an enormous 2-person jetted tub and shower. We ate dinner at the lodge, in the more casual dining area called The Attic, and came back during happy hour for dessert and some wine for Andy, to watch the sunset and just enjoy God's gorgeous display of colors over the powerful waterfall. I totally shocked myself when praying over dinner, by getting choked up thanking God for the 14 years (15, if you count our year of dating) that He's given Andy and I. I'm so thankful for our marriage and for my husband, even when he drives me absolutely nuts. God is faithful all the time - when things are going great, and when they are going not so great. We've had our share of both of those times in the last 14 years, but there's no one else I'd rather have spent this time with.

Snoqualmie Falls is right next to the lodge. It is big, majestic, powerful and stunning. Our primary electric company is doing work on and around the falls (they use it for hydroelectric power), so the main trails are closed, but we were able to get to the viewpoint and take some great shots.

We had a wonderful breakfast this morning, worked out in their fitness room, which happened to be down the hall from our room, and then headed over to the outlet stores in nearby North Bend. Uncle Dave was super kind and long-suffering and watched the boys for us!

We ended our trip with a quick stop at Spooner Farms to pick up some freshly picked blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, along with some stunning lavender, grown right there on the farm near the berries.

It was a wonderful anniversary getaway.
