Salad Dressings

Ok, so I tend to make most of my salad dressings rather than buy them. Why? Because they are cheaper, better tasting and I know exactly what is going into each of them. So I thought I'd post a couple salad dressing recipes that are used quite often in our house.

Honey Mustard Dressing (adapted from Black Angus restaurants)
Ingredients:
Equal amounts of honey and mayonnaise (I usually use about 1/2 - 3/4 cup)
Yellow mustard to taste
Splash of red wine or white wine vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl with whisk.
2. Taste and season accordingly.
3. Pour into squeeze bottle.
Really yummy honey mustard dressing. A little goes a long way! Also excellent with chicken fingers and French fries.

Celery Seed Dressing (via Mrs. Joy of Cooking)
Ingredients:
In a blender, mix together:
1 cup canola oil
1/3 cup rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp salt
3 tsp minced onion
2 tsp celery seed

Blend and pour over salad of mixed greens and sliced mandarin oranges. Again, a little goes a long way with this one!!

Balsamic Vinegar Dressing (from Jamie Oliver)
Ingredients:
3 & 1/2 tbs. good balsamic vinegar
10 tbs. extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper

Put into a jar, shake. Season to taste.

Lemon Oil Dressing (from Jamie Oliver)
Ingredients:
3 & 1/2 tbs. fresh lemon juice (SQUEEZE your own - don't use bottled lemon juice here)
10 tbs. extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper

Put into a jar, shake. Season to taste.

If you have a favorite that you make, I'd love to know it! Please post!!!
