Larsen Sliders

Last week we bought some little pre-made sliders (mini-hamburgers) from the store and cooked them up. They were so unfortunate...I mean, really...pretty bad. I told Andy that we could definitely do better, so today, we made our own, and not only did we do better, they are...um...were...FABULOUS!!!! We will make these many times over!

So, here's what we did...

Larsen Sliders
Ingredients:

1.5 lb ground beef
.75 lb ground pork **
Worcestershire sauce
Johnny's Seasoning Salt
Garlic Powder
Blue Cheese Crumbles
Minced Onion
Salt and Pepper (freshly ground pepper)

**Rather than buying ground pork, we bought some boneless pork country ribs for BBQ. I took two of them and ground them up myself in my KitchenAid mixer, with the grinder attachment. This allowed me to use the perfect amount of pork and fat, rather than relying on the grocery store to decide.

1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, pork and all the other ingredients. We don't really measure...just add according to your taste. (Hint: add ingredients, take a small amount of meat and form into a tiny taste, brown it up and taste to determine if it needs more seasoning.)

2. Wrap the mixture with plastic wrap and put in the fridge for a couple of hours. When ready to cook, remove from the fridge and form into small patties.

3. Cook on the grill or indoors in a grill pan until cooked through.

We caramelized onions, cut up some tomatoes and lettuce and that is really all that was needed. The mixture of pork and beef created a super moist, juicy piece of meat that just sang with flavor!

YUM-O to the nth degree! So delicious!!!
