Thanksgiving Menu

I’m so looking forward to cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner! We’ve always spent the holidays with our relatives, which is a wonderful way to eat, chat and just hang out, but being an avid cook, I’ve always wanted to do the whole spread myself. So, here’s my menu and I’ll be posting pictures and recipes as the event unfolds.

Appetizer: Stuffed Mushrooms (stuffed with bacon, bread crumbs, cream cheese and herbs)
First course: Salad with mixed greens, pears, fennel, candied pecans, blue cheese and mustard vinaigrette.
Main course: Brined turkey stuffed with aromatics
Side dish #1: Green bean casserole (a classic)
Side dish #2: Mashed potatoes with Mascarpone cheese
Side dish #3: Roasted yams with rosemary, orange juice, olive oil and a touch of brown sugar (these are cut in half, length-wise and roasted)
Side dish #4: Rolls
Side dish #5: Brandied cranberries (courtesy of our friend Dave)
Side dish #6: Sausage and chestnut dressing (not stuffing because it won’t be in the turkey)
Drink: Mulled Cider
Dessert: Ritz Pecan Pie

It promises to be a super fun meal to cook and even better to eat! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and happy cooking!

  1. That sounds delicious! You and Andy got me hooked on the sweet potato casserole from yesteryear. It is a must at all holiday meals.
